Defending 127, Australia pulled off an unlikely victory at the MCG thanks in main to a brilliant spell of very fast bowling by Shaun Tait.Debutant Steve Smith also chipped in with two valuable wickets as Pakistan fell 3 runs shy of what should have been a regulation run chase for the current Twenty/20 World Champions.Kamran Akmal led the way for them with 64 off 33 balls but after his demise, Pakistan collapsed and definitely missed the batting talents of Yousuf, Khan and Afridi. So the tourists head home without a win in 9 international matches on this tour while Australia continue their excellent run of form.
